Prof. Dr. Tilman Krämer, head of the piano department at the Freiburg Conservatory, is an outstanding German pianist and pedagogue 南宫体育. As a child he studied piano with Paul Buck, then with Konrad Elser at the Lübeck Conservatory, and then in Vienna with Leonid Blumberg, where he was inspired by the collaboration with Elisabeth Leonskaya. He also attended master classes with Oleg Meisenberg and Karl-Heinz Kemmerling, and studied chamber music with Walter Levin and Henri Meyer of the La Salle Quartet and Thomas Kakuska of the Alban Berg Quartet, which greatly enriched his musical knowledge.
In 1996 Kramer won the International Piano Competition in Madrid and in the same year he was awarded the music prize of the Possehl foundation in Lübeck. He has recorded a number of acclaimed albums, including his debut CD for the Venus Music label in 2000, featuring works by Schumann and Chopin, and a CD of Johannes Brahms' piano works, released in 2005 in collaboration with Radio Köln in Germany, which was described by the press as one of the most important Brahms interpretations of recent years, and a CD of Brahms' sonata works, released in 2009 by the Covello Classics label in association with Bavarian Radio, was awarded the Supersonic Prize by the European music magazine Pizzicato and nominated for the Deutsche Schallerputtenkritzer Prize 2010 (Please check the spelling of this prize name) 南宫体育.
A regular visitor to international festivals, Kramer has performed on such prestigious stages as the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the Usedom Festival 南宫体育. After making his debut in Japan in 1999, he has traveled frequently to perform in Japan; his first tour of China in 2005 was also a success. He has also performed with many renowned ensembles and musicians, such as the Alban Berg Quartet and the Artemis Quartet.
In addition to his performances, Kramer has also had a fruitful career in the field of education, teaching piano at the Lübeck Conservatory of Music from 2001 to 2007, and at the Freiburg Conservatory of Music since April 2007, where he has trained several students who have won prizes at international competitions 南宫体育.
